For the 2022 election, I am running for the Arizona Senate!
Thanks to your help, I was elected to the Arizona House of Representatives in 2016, 2018, and 2020. For my next term, I will run for the AZ State Senate. You may have heard that Sen. Bowie will not run for re-election.
It has always been a joy to work with neighbors in our community. From the PTO/PTA, and youth soccer organization, to the Arizona State House, I love working as a team to solve problems and make our world even better. “Everyone is my neighbor” was the slogan on a sign at a rally for peace in 2016, and that is why my outreach group as your State Representative is called, “Neighbors Council.”

- This year we passed bipartisan Unemployment Insurance improvements by activating the grassroots to speak up about the need.
- I serve as the Caucus Lead on preparing our Democratic Budget proposal.
- We have established and improved the Family Caregiver Grants program.
- Working with our local advocates for youth suicide prevention and statewide experts and stakeholders, we have moved and changed the Arizona legislature to recognize, “Treatment works. Recovery happens. Suicide is preventable.”
- Together, we passed Jake’s Law which was an enormous break-through in helping people get a fair deal from their insurance companies for mental healthcare.
- In my first year at the legislature, we added a Statewide Suicide Prevention Coordinator to the budget, and that position continues today, helping the many organizations of our state make a difference.
Along the way, I have spoken up and made changes to bills to improve accountability in government. With my experience in manufacturing and finance industries, I have pushed for sound business metrics to be added to government projects. I have fought against inequitable plans that were rotten deals for you!
Equity has been my focus in fighting for fair laws for people who rent their homes, and for balanced consumer protections. Equity has been my goal in fighting for lower taxes for you, the everyday Arizonans at the lower and middle income levels who are carrying too much of the tax burden.

I am running for the Arizona State Senate because we still have a long way to go to make Arizona government accountable, transparent and fair for you.
In the Senate, I will continue to work for excellent education and a healthy environment. That means I will fight to restore the cuts that have been made to education funding! It means I recognize that the way to protect our children during this pandemic is to heed the science. In schools we need layers of mitigations to slow the spread of COVID. I will fight to make Arizona a more equitable place for you. You should not have to work twice as hard for half as much. You deserve wide open opportunities for better jobs and better pay. You deserve equal rights in voting and in healthcare, at school, work, and play. You deserve better.
I’m listening to you, my neighbors, and I’m running to be your State Senator to lift up your voice for better education, environment, and equity.
